Monthly Ipsy Bag Value - November 2017
I'm back! I took a bit of a break to enjoy my 4 days off from work and to celebrate Thanksgiving. I hope you all had a nice and relaxing Thanksgiving with friends and family. I received my Ipsy bag a little over a week ago, but I've been so busy I honestly didn't have a chance to open it up until this weekend. This month's bag featured 1 of 2 two-toned bags. There were 2 available, a yellow/brown and a blue/dark blue. I obviously received the second one. This is the last fall themed bag I'll receive this year, so let's jump in and see what items I got.
The first thing I grabbed was this beautiful sparkly lip gloss. The top of the lip gloss is decorated in purple glitter and features an iridescent purple band. The lip gloss is by Lime Crime and is the Diamond Crushers collection in the color Lit. This really brings me back to my childhood when I use to wear glittery lip gloss and eye shadow. I'm really excited to try this and see if I can still pull off the glitter look. Reg. Retail Price - $18.00.
The next thing I pulled out was a this dark blush by Tarte Cosmetics. It supposedly lasts 12 hours which would a life saver for me. My initial reaction was how dark it looked, but I sampled a little on my hand and it is a nice rose color. I have several blushes I haven't even cracked open yet, but when I run out I'll probably integrate this blush into my daily routine. (Reg. Retail Price - $29.00)
I like to think I know quite a bit about makeup. But as soon as I pulled this little number out, I was instantly confused. Is it concealer? Is it a cream? Sunscreen? I think it's actually concealer so I hope the color isn't too dark or light on me. There's nothing worse than concealer that doesn't match your skin tone. This "concealer" is by IT Cosmetics and I received it in the color light. (Reg. Retail Price - $38.00)
This loose eye shadow powder is by Naked Cosmetics in the color Mother Nature #06. I really like the color, but the only thing I don't like is how messy it is. I barely put any powder on my brush and literally exploded all over everything. There is a slight learning curve to this product, so hopefully I can figure out how to put more on my face than on the floor. (Reg. Retail Price - $14.99)
The last item I received was this lip balm by Skyn Iceland in Berry. You can never have too much lip balm. I'm a little obsessed with chap stick and I have no less than 5 hiding around my house or hidden in my purse. Because I have so many around my house, I probably won't get to try this out for a while. The sample I did try seemed really nice and I liked the flavor. I'm not sure how well it holds up for longer periods of time. Reg. Retail Price - $14.00.
Total Retail Value: $118.99!
Wow! Another successful month! The big ticket item in this bag seems to be the concealer/sunscreen. The value of this bag is unbelievable and I received some items I wouldn't normally buy - this gives me a chance to test them out without feeling like I wasted my money.
I paid $10 for 5 pieces of makeup + a bag + shipping. Anyone on the fence about signing up for a monthly makeup subscription, I HIGHLY recommend Ipsy. I've been a subscriber since February 2017 and I couldn't be more happy. I've loved/used almost every product I've received. $10 a month is such a great price, no wonder there is a waiting list to get on!
