Monthly Ipsy Bag Value - October 2017
Happy Halloween everyone! I know I usually do these Ipsy monthly bag values earlier in the month, but I was missing an item from October's bag and had to contact their customer service. Now that I have all my items, I can finally do this months bag value. With Halloween being in October, I was expecting a spooky themed bag and darker products and all though the bag didn't scream "Halloween" it still managed to subtly convey it by using a small decorative bat on the zipper pulltab. The bag (like in months past) feels durable but also seems slightly bigger than last months. Again, only time will tell how well this holds up after jamming all my makeup and brushes inside. Let's jump right in and see what eerie items Ipsy surprised me with this month.
Ipsy must be eavesdropping on my conversations, because I received two more face masks this month! This month's masks are by BioRepublic and I got them in Pomegranate Crush and Cucumber Breeze. This is another Korean company that strictly manufactures sheet masks so I have pretty high expectations. Reg. Retail Price - $4.99/ea.
The first thing I noticed was the liquid matte lipstick by MDMflow in the color Retro. I don't typically wear lipstick on a day-to-day basis, but I will apply a natural shade if I'm going out somewhere nicer or if I'm heading to a wedding. I really like the color and I could see myself wearing it a little more frequently. The size of the lipstick is great and I feel like the value of it is definitely worth it. Reg. Retail Price - $23.37
The next thing I found was this lightly colored nail polish by Nail Medic. It is a Charcoal Infused Nail Polish and I received it in the color Volcanic Ash. I tested the color on one of my nails and it's almost more white than grey. I don't usually wear light or natural color nail polishes, but I'm willing to give this one a try to see how I like it. Reg. Retail Price - $9.00.
The next thing I pulled out was a 4-in-1 mascara by Tarte Cosmetics. I am so glad I received mascara this month because I just threw my old clumpy one out a few days ago. I don't know what it is with mascara, but my mascara seem to go bad so fast and I'm constantly buying more. I've never used this brand before so I'm hoping I can hold on to this one before I have to replace it. (Reg. Retail Price - $23.00)
And the final thing in this months bag (which is the item I had to contact customer service about) is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion. I have several Urban Decay products and I've been buying them way before I had a subscription to Ipsy. The packaging is pretty impressive for such a small eye pencil and I like that they offer 41 other colors! Wow! I haven't had a chance to try this one yet because I just received it in the mail over the weekend, but it's in the color black which is always a safe choice. I've always been very satisfied with their products so I'm sure I'll like this eye pencil. (Reg. Retail Price - $20.00).
Total Retail Value: $91.60!
I don't think I've ever spent that much for makeup at one time! Although I was initially disappointed this month because I didn't receive all my items but, the wait was definitely worth it. The value of this bag is unbelievable and I received some items I wouldn't normally buy - this gives me a chance to test them out without feeling like I wasted my money.
I paid $10 for 5 pieces of makeup + a bag + shipping. Anyone on the fence about signing up for a monthly makeup subscription, I HIGHLY recommend Ipsy. I've been a subscriber since February 2017 and I couldn't be more happy. I've loved/used almost every product I've received. $10 a month is such a great price, no wonder there is a waiting list to get on!
